Nature Based Preschool
Following an amazing first year, Monti Magic Preschool is excited to offer two options for nature-based education at Bertram Chain of Lakes! Families now have a full-day and half-day option.
Students in the nature-based preschool class are in an outdoor immersive setting and will be outside every day unless the weather is dangerous. Nature-based preschool achieves the same outcomes as a traditional Monti Magic Preschool class, only natural materials are the learning tool with the great outdoors for a classroom. Students spend minimal time inside each day, but do have a designated indoor classroom should the weather be unsuitable for outdoor learning.
Nature-based preschool programs:
- Stimulate the diversity of children’s play experience and contribute to their healthy development.
- Provide a supportive, safe learning environment to encourage discovery, question-asking and experimentation.
- Provide sensory experiences with live animals, natural objects, artifacts, trail activities and art materials for students to utilize all five senses.
- Develop cognitive growth and motor skills.
- Develop problem-solving skills through hands-on games and activities.
- Cultivate social skills and positive self-image through group play and cooperative learning across ages.
