About ECFE

Early Childhood Family Education

ECFE offers a variety of classes, activities and special events designed especially for you and your child!  We recognize that parents/guardians/caregivers are their child's first and most important teachers.  We are committed to strengthening families by providing opportunities to play and learn together, and to enhance the ability of all families to provide the best possible environment for healthy growth and development of their children.

Classes are taught by early childhood educators and parent educators who engage caregivers and children in activities promoting cognitive, physical and social emotional growth.

A typical ECFE class includes:

  • Adult/Child Time -- Parents/caregivers and children explore activities and learning centers designed by certified early childhood teachers.  All activities are age-appropriate and promote whole-child development.
  • Parent Education -- Parent educators provide resources and guide group discussions about child development and typical parenting challenges.  The parent discussion time is designed for you to get to know other parents/guardians/caregivers in the community and learn from one another.
  • Children’s Classroom -- During parent discussion, children play and learn in a stimulating and caring environment with licensed early childhood teachers and paraprofessionals.  Social interaction and free choice play is the main focus during this time.
  • Sibling Care -- Quality child care is available to provide a safe, caring and fun environment for siblings not enrolled in the class you are attending.
