Community Education Policies

We are happy to help!  Please call (763-272-2030) or email (barb.marquette@monticello.k12.mn.us) with questions.

Catalog Disclaimer: While every effort has been made to ensure timely accuracy of this publication, policies and class offerings do occasionally change. Please go online (www.monticello.ce.eleyo.com) to view the most accurate information. If you have a question about a policy or class, contact Community Education for the most up to date information.

Registration: Full payment is due at registration to confirm your seat. Cash, check (paid to MCE), or credit card are accepted. Some class offerings may have delayed billing and will be noted accordingly. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email. You do not have to be a Monticello resident to participate in classes.

Waitlists: When a class fills, waitlists are created. Spots are reserved in the order they are received. If there is enough interest, we will try to offer another session. If you are on the waitlist and a spot opens up, we will contact you. Your card will not be charged until you are formally enrolled in the class.

Scholarships: Scholarships are available for qualified classes and individuals. Contact Community Education for eligibility requirements.

Cancellations: Community Education reserves the right to cancel any activity due to insufficient enrollment, inclement weather, pool issues, etc. Every effort will be made to contact registrants 48 hours before the scheduled start of the activity via email.

If you need to cancel a registration, call (763-272-2030) or email (barb.marquette@monticello.k12.mn.us) as soon as possible.

Refunds: If we cancel a class, you will be notified and given a full refund.  If you need to cancel a class, please notify the community education office 3 days prior to the beginning of the class to receive a refund minus a $3 processing fee, unless otherwise noted.  No refunds will be given after the first night of class, or for the first weather-related closing. No refunds for trips or tours are given after the registration and payment deadline.

Non-endorsement/Paid Advertisements: Community Education does not endorse the opinions or business affiliations of either the instructors used or the organizations who advertise in this catalog (This catalog contains paid advertisements).

Photo/Video: Through class registration, participants give permission to Monticello Community Education to photograph and/or videotape class and use materials for promotion purposes on our own and local media channels without any obligation to obtain prior consent or to provide compensation to those photographed/videotaped. If you don’t want this to occur, you must inform us at the time of registration.

Class Disclaimers: Fitness and other classes can be strenuous and cause injury. By registering you agree to release Monticello Schools and its employees of all liability of accidents or injuries incurred during a class by yourself and/or listed participants.

Transportation: Transportation for youth enrichment and recreation classes is not provided between schools.

Expectations:  I understand that the participant will follow instructions given by the adult in charge of the program and will comply with all rules for student conduct for the Community Education program.

Participant Medical Emergency Authorization:  In the event of a medical emergency while participating in the program, I authorize the adult in charge of the program or designee to release the medical information provided by me to the
healthcare provider, and to arrange for treatment in an emergency. I understand that Community Education officials will use the contact information provided to connect with emergency contacts in the event of such an emergency. I agree to be financially responsible for the costs of any such medical procedures or treatment. I understand that Community Education does not provide medical insurance for my student or myself.

Concussion Management Information: It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to review the Concussion Management Information and share this information with their child. Click here to review the information http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/

Early Childhood Immunizations:  Minnesota law requires that all children be immunized before entering school, including ECFE and Monti Magic Preschool classes. Up-to-date immunizations must be submitted to ECFE before your child attends classes.  Participants do not need to submit immunization records for general community education classes.

Informed Consent:  By its nature, participation in this program’s activities includes risk of injury and the transmission of infectious diseases such as Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Herpes, Hepatitis B and others. Although serious injuries are not common and the risk of HIV transmission is almost nonexistent in supervised Community Education programs, it is impossible to eliminate all risk. Participants have the responsibility to reduce that risk. Participants must obey all safety rules, report physical and hygiene problems, and report any concerns about the equipment.

*By completing registration, I hereby agree to release ISD #882, Monticello Schools, Monticello Community Education Services and all of its employees from any liability related to accidents or injuries that may occur during this class or activity.  In the event of an emergency, I hereby authorize Community Education staff or vendors to secure medical help, including the services of a rescue squad or emergency room of the nearest health facility.  I understand that I will be held responsible for all medical expenses.

PARENTS, AND GUARDIANS WHO MAY NOT WISH TO ACCEPT THE RISK DESCRIBED IN THIS WARNING SHOULD NOT SIGN OR ACCEPT THE FORM. STUDENTS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM WITHOUT THE PARENT’S / GUARDIAN’S CONSENT.
